Abdul is the second born child and has two brothers and one sister. All four children live with their parents who are both unemployed. Abdul's parents grow sweet potatoes, corn, and beans on a rented piece of land to feed their children and for sale. Most of the proceedings from the sale are used to pay landowners. Providing for their children's other needs like clothes, health care, nutritional meals, and bedding is quite difficult for Abdul’s parents.
