Alex is second born in a family with three boys and one girl. His family lives in a remote area of Kassanda in central Uganda. His parents are all local farmers who grow crops for food on their small piece of property and may sell some to earn some little money for the basic home necessities. Despite his poor parents, Alex hopes to live a changed life as long as he has the opportunity of acquiring an education.
