Asiat comes from a family of ten children; six girls and four boys her being the tenth born. Her father was food poisoned and he died when Asiat was still at a very tender age. She and her siblings remained with their mother who finds such a hard time in catering for the family necessities. The mother is unemployed so getting money to complete the house is quite impossible for her. Paying for the children's tuition and providing daily meals for them are some of the other challenges she faces. Her in-laws sometimes intervene and help to cater for some of the family needs. Asiat often lacks scholastic materials and tuition so she is often sent back home. She studies under a number of challenges but she often emerges as the best student in her class.
