Brian was born in a family of four boys and four girls. He is the fourth born. He lost both his parents to AIDS. He and his siblings stay with their grandma. She grows a few food crops in her small garden for the family’s consumption. Brian and his family stay in an area that is always affected by long times of drought which destroy people’s crops. In such times, Brian’s family is always left with no food. Brian loves school but he always lacks tuition and school supplies. He walks about 5 miles to get to school.
