Brian is the fifth born of seven children in his family. He has three brothers and three sisters. He lives with both his parents in a very remote area of Lagut, Gulu in Northern Uganda. His father was left disabled after being attacked by the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). He is unable to be of any help to the family, leaving Brian's mother fully responsible for the family's provision. All she manages to do is grow a few crops to feed the family. Brian has always missed school due to his mother’s failure to pay his tuition. Through sponsorship, Brian will be able to attend school regularly and pursue his dream of becoming a doctor.
