Bridget comes last in the family of five children. She has two brothers and two sisters. Together with her siblings, they stay with their mother who is the bread winner of the family. Their father left the home after he had gotten another wife and since then he has never showed up to his family again. Bridget’s mother is a peasant who depends on farming for food. On a lucky season of harvest, she sells off the surplus harvest to cater for other needs of her children like clothing and medication. Bridget loves school.
