Daniel was born in a family of ten children. He has five sisters and four brothers. He lives with his parents who rely on the food crops they grow in their backyard. With such a large family, the parents find it very difficult to provide adequate care for all their children. Daniel and his family walk about 4 miles to the nearest well to carry water back to their home. When they need health care, they must walk about 8 miles. It is challenging for them to be able to pay for their children’s tuition. When Daniel is able to attend school, he will walk about 5 miles beginning at 6AM and returning at 6PM.
