Denis is born in a family of five children; three girls and two boys him being the third born.  He stays with both his parents who love him so much and try effortlessly to provide for most of his necessities.  However much they try, they still fail because they are peasants who earn little from the sale of their harvested crops.  To add to that, there is less market since most of the people in the neighborhood are peasants.  They find most difficulty in paying for the children’s tuition, clothing them and paying for their medication in case of any illness.  It breaks their hearts to always see their children being sent back home due to lack of tuition because they believe that education is the only way for their bright future.  Denis is a social, loving and hardworking boy who loves school so much.
