Edith's father is a drunkard who cares little about his children’s wellbeing. He spends every single penny he manages to earn on drinking alcohol. Edith's mother is unemployed and grows a few food crops in her garden to feed her children. Edith's mother makes sure that her children have at least one meal a day.
