Efranci and her twin Aidah are the second born of the three children in their family who all happen to be girls. Their parents separated when Efranci was still at a tender age so she and her siblings remained with their father who married another woman. As most of the stepmothers are, Efrancis isn't any different. She didn't love Efranci and her siblings, used to mistreat them till their father decided to take them to their grandmother with whom they currently stay. Both the father and the grandmother try to provide for Efranci and her siblings but they still fail because they are low-income earners; they are peasants who grow a few crops.
