Gift is the third born with two brothers and two sisters. She stays with both parents who are unemployed. They all live in a small rented two room house. Gift's family lives in a rural community in Western Uganda. People in this area including her parents are unemployed or casual laborers. Their major occupation is to grow a few crops for food on the small pieces of land that they either own or rent. Gift’s family has no access to most of the life’s basic needs like clean water, healthcare, bedding among others.
