Gilbert is the sixth born having three brothers and one sister.  He’s been raised in a very remote and poor community where there’s no access to clean water, medical care, good roads and electricity.  The six children and their parents are living in a small mud and bamboo house.  The parents’ only job is growing food crops to feed the family.  After the harvest, there’s always no surplus food left for them to sell and earn some money.  The father is too poor to pay tuition for his children and also provide other needs to them.  Gilbert works so hard in school to live his dream of being a doctor.  He walks about four miles from his home to school on bare feet.  Despite these challenges, he loves school passionately and strongly believes that if supported in school, he will live his dream.
