Hadijah is the first born of two girls in her family. Hadijah stays with her parents, sister, and step-brother. Hadijah’s parents grow crops like corn and beans on a rented piece of land. The biggest part of the harvest is for food and the remaining for sale. After the sale, they are able to pay the landowners and usually little is left for other family needs. Hadijah has just started school this year but her parents’ greatest challenge is to raise her tuition and school supplies.
