Imelda is the first born of the four children in her family having two sisters and one brother. Little as she is, she loves school so much but the lack of tuition keeps getting in her way of attaining education. She is very hard working and always emerges as one of the best students in her class. Her parents, with whom she stays are so proud of her and work tirelessly to keep her in school. However, they often fail because they are unemployed and therefore unable to cater for all the children's necessities more so paying for their tuition and providing other school requirements.
