Ivan comes from a family of two girls and two boys him taking the first position. He lives with his grandmother. His mother dropped him at his grandmother’s home at a very tender age. The father disappeared from home and they have never seen him. The grandmother is a peasant farmer who grows beans and corn for home consumption. She is too old to work but struggles to provide food for her grandchildren. She can’t afford paying for their tuition.
