Joab is the seventh born in the family of eight children. He has four brothers and three sisters.  Joab stays with both his peasant parents who depend on farming for food. On a lucky season, the surplus harvest is sold off to meet other necessities like clothing, and medical care. Joab is a smart passionate boy who loves school. He is often seen so sad when sent home to bring tuition and this affects his studies. Joab wants to be a teacher to teach the generation to come but without help with his tuition, his dream is like chasing the wind.
