Joel is the third born in his family of seven children comprising of two girls and five boys. The children live with both parents who are peasants. Joel’s father is a polygamist with many children. The family does not have a sure source of income and as such cannot provide for the needs of all the children adequately. Joel likes school. He is a brilliant boy who performs well in academics.  If given the chance to stay in school, Joel can achieve the hope of a better future for his family and himself.
