Josephine lives with her parents who are unemployed.  She is the first born with one sister and two brothers.  For many years she and her family have lived a difficult life.  They have poor accommodations, no access to health care, lack of clothing, and Josephine is absent from school.  The fact that her parents cannot afford to pay tuition often leaves Josephine absent from school.  However, she is passionate about attaining an education so she can become a teacher.
