Joyce is second born of 2 girls and 1 boy. At her early age, her father used to beat up the mother whenever he came back home. The parents later on separated because the mother couldn’t handle the mistreatment anymore. The mother left her children with their father who also gave them to one of the school staff to keep them during school days. Joyce and his siblings took long without seeing their mother. They thought she had died yet the mother also didn’t know where her kids were. Later on, she later found out and came to meet them after a long time. She now can visit them at school but the kids aren’t given the chance by their father to go visit her. Instead, they have to stay at their stepmother’s home during school breaks. Joyce’s expression shows that she really misses her mother. She hopes that she can live a free and better life after attaining an education.
