Mackline is the tenth born of the eleven children in her family.  She has four sisters and six brothers.  She stays with both her parents deep down in the bush.  They rely on peasantry farming which is done on a very small scale to sustain the entire family.  They mainly grow maize and beans for food and a little is reserved for sale.  The income from sales is usually small and irregular insufficient to meet most of the children’s necessities.  When the Imani Milele team visited her school, it realized how disciplined and talented Mackline was.  She was made to join the Imani Milele Choir where she sings and dances passionately.  What’s amazing about Mackline is how big she dreams.  She dreams of becoming a Social worker despite her irregularity at school caused by lack of tuition and school supplies.
