Michael is the second born in his family.  He has one brother and two sisters. He currently lives with his parents and siblings in a house made of mud and sticks. Michael’s back is partially bent forward due to an illness he had when he was still young. The parents are farmers who grow a few food crops to feed the family.  If the growing season is good, they have spare food to sell in order to pay for other basic needs such as soap, kerosene, salt, etc.  Most of the time there is not enough money to pay for Michael’s tuition and school supplies.
