Geoffrey lost both his parents to HIV/AIDS when he was still at a tender age. First it was his father and eventually the mother died as well. This affected him because he never got the chance of experiencing parental love and has no memories of his parents either. Geoffrey, his two brothers and two sisters were later taken in by their relatives. His other siblings were taken in by their grandparents but Geoffrey was taken in by his uncle who is unemployed. He works tirelessly to fully provide for his nephew but often times fails because he earns little from the sale of his harvested crops. Geoffrey loves school so much but the lack of tuition keeps getting in his way. Offering to support his education is the gift that he would forever treasure.
