Patience is the sixth born in a family of 7 children (she has 4 brothers and 2 sisters). She has grown up in a very remote and poor community in the northern part of Uganda, a region that had for a long time been affected by a civil war that had started way back in 1986 to 2002. Her family lives in extreme poverty because the parents grow a few crops (mainly sorghum & cassava) on which they feed their children. Patience is often faced by epilepsy and she’s sometimes partially blind. However, she is a well behaved girl who loves school and walks close to two miles from home to school. She sometimes misses school due to unpaid tuition and lack of school supplies which her parents can’t afford. Her hope can be restored given the opportunity to settle in school and medical attention.
