Ruth is the sixth born in a family of two boys, and five girls. Her father died when she was two years old.  She and her siblings now live with their mother in a very remote and rural area located in Western Uganda. Her mother is a housewife who mainly grows cassava, beans, and plantain to feed the family.  Ruth is a hard working young girl both at home and at school. She helps her mom to collect water from the well and gathers firewood from the fields. Ruth's dream is to become a teacher but it remains uncertain until her school needs are met. Choosing to love and sponsor Ruth assures her stay in school and brightens her future.
