I come from a big family of 10 children; 8 girls and 2 boys. Besides, I have 15 stepsiblings. I live with my parents who are peasant farmers. We grow crops like corn, potatoes, cassava, and beans. Because of the small size of the land, we mainly grow crops for home consumption. It’s only when harvests are good that we sell a portion to meet other needs. Given the family size, compared to the little income earned, it is very challenging for my parents to provide for the family.
