Shalom is the first born in a family of two boys and one girl. Her father abandoned the family years ago, leaving Shalom, Pius and Godward to live with their unemployed mother who rents a single room which they all share. The father remarried a woman who has children of her own. He has the responsibility of taking care of the new family plus trying to provide the needs of his own three children.   It is very difficult for him to feed, clothe provide, medication and Education. Going to school is the only hope that Shalom has to have a successful future.
