Winnie, the fourth born in her family has four sisters and three brothers. Winnie and the other siblings stay with their parents in a small dirt floor house built out of mud and bamboo. Her parents are subsistence farmers who grow corn, plantain, yams, and beans on small scale using hand tools. Times of drought have always affected their yields. The other great challenge that the parents face is paying for Winnie’s tuition and providing her with school supplies. Winnie loves school and works hard in class. Sponsoring her education will not only transform Winnie but also her family and community.
