Fatuma is the sixth born of the seven children in her family having three sisters and three brothers. Her parents separated.  The mother left and after sometime, the father married another woman.  Fatuma and her siblings remained with their father who was unemployed then.  He found such a difficult time in raising his children since he didn’t have any source of income.  He tried looking for a job but since he is illiterate, he failed to get one. He now carries out subsistence farming on a small piece of land. He finds most difficulty in paying for the children’s tuition.
