Josephat is a twin. He and his twin brother Joseph are the sixth born of eight children in their family comprising of 7 boys and 1 girl.  He stays with both his parents who depend on subsistence farming as their only source of income. The crops grown are mainly for home consumption but they at times sell off some to earn a little money. With many challenges he faces, Josephat remains one of the best students in his class.
