Peninah is the first born of two sisters and 3 brothers. Her parents originated from Rwanda but they moved to Tanzania where they live currently. At an early age, Penina and her young brother Steven were brought to Uganda by their grandmother. They have never gone back to visit their parents since then. Although their parents are cattle keepers in Tanzania, they never visit or send any support to meet the needs of these kids. Peninah in her infancy was attacked by a swarm of bees and this is how her right eye was affected. The grandmother has no reliable source of income especially to pay for tuition and school supplies. Supporting Penina in school is a great investment which will help her live a transformed life in the future.
